Gutfreund Piano Trio was founded in summer 2012 in Karlsruhe. The ensemble consists of Jens Adrian Fischer (piano), Bogdan Michael Kisch (violoncello) and Julian Fahrner (violin).

Gutfreund Piano Trio is the winner of the Chamber Music Competition of „Polytechnische Gesellschaft“ Frankfurt am Main. Since the ensemble was founded, they were awarded many prizes in several competitions like the Chamber Music Competition Val Tidone (Italy) and the Johannes Brahms Competition in Pörtschach (Austria). In January 2017, the three musicians won the 3rd Prize at the Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy Competition in Berlin. Additionally, they were awarded the special prize of the association „Freunde junger Musiker“.

The three musicians regularly work together with international renowned musician Professor Angelika Merkle in Frankfurt. The piano trio also gets important impulses by Fauré Quartett and Trio Jean Paul, Ralf Gothóni and Wolfgang Rihm.
